Whenever you win the game, you are happy. In fact, you can not give your opponent any chance. This was a tough match. You can never give up any chance you get, and I caught my chance luckily in this match.

Comments on the court:

I have played on this court for two weeks, and have got used to it. This is the best court I have ever played on.

On the following schedule:

I will go to Tokyo this afternoon, so I’m going to the airport.

On the goal of playing tennis:

When I was a child, I played tennis because I wanted to win. Now I find it a good way to earn money, so I make it my profession.

On his feelings of winning two gold medals within two weeks (Men’s Doubles last week and Men’s Singles this week):

My aim is to win the Men’s Singles, and my major focus is on singles, because playing singles can earn more money. As to the doubles last week, I also wanted to win, and luckily I did. But I didn’t perform very well in this week’s doubles.

On his future plan:

I graduated from a college in the U.S., and my major is computer science. I do want to go on playing tennis, but maybe I will go to a company.

Comments on the venue:

I have never seen a better court abroad. This court is as nice as any international-level court.

On the plan in the following year:

I want to improve my rankings and skills. Hopefully, I might get a wild card next year to attend the Olympic Games and win a medal. I also hope I can be the Top 200, and I have confidence.

On losing the second set in such a short time:

I didn’t do well in my first two service games, and didn’t handle several key points properly. Therefore I was left behind. In my following service games, I was at loss, so I didn’t catch up. Though I turned better later, there was no suspense by then.

Comments on his performance in last two weeks:

I should pay more attention to my footwork, attacking ability and improve my fore court and net skills. I’m satisfied with my performance, but not at my service skills.

On what he will do in the rest of the year:

I will take care of my injuries first and go to Korea next week. There will be a $100,000 challenger. After that, I will go back to China to play a futures in Wu Xi and go to Italy for training at the end of the year.(ONS)
